Gary L. Kightlinger

MARION: Gary L. Kightlinger age 71, of Marion, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Marion General Hospital. Gary was born April 20, 1941 in Franklin, PA to Ruth (Burtchfield) Kightlinger. On January 28, 1961, he married Tonya June Henderson in Franklin, PA. She passed away in Marion on May 10, 2009.

Gary was a very active member of the Richland Road Church of Christ and a member of the Lions Club. He very much enjoyed his grandchildren and all of their activities, especially the ones involving sports. He was an avid OSU fan and a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Gary was retired as an engineer from the former Marion Power Shovel Company.

He leaves behind one daughter and two sons Kerry (Brian) Stevens of Marion, Chris (Kelly) Kightlinger of Powell, OH, and Jason (Trevah) Kightlinger of Marion; eight grandchildren Chase and Alexis Stevens, Hunter, Brant, and Nick Kightlinger, Paige, Jordan, and Braxton Kightlinger; also surviving are two sisters, Beverly Kightlinger of Grove City, PA, and Sandy Reyburn of Franklin, PA; as well as three brothers, Gerald Kightlinger of Virginia, Donnie Kightlinger of California, and Rich Kightlinger of Erie, PA. Besides his parents and his wife, Gary was preceded in death by sister, Gean McGill;and his brother, Jack Kightlinger.

Funeral services for Gary will be Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Richland Road Church of Christ. Officiating the service will be Russell Howard. Burial will immediately follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Richland Road Church of Christ. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.boydbornfuneralhome.com
