Jack Howard Obituary
MARION: Jack Howard, age 65, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at 9:20 a.m. in his home. He was born in Salyersville, Kentucky on February 18, 1946 to the late Young and Lottie (Kramer) Howard.
Jack was a member of the Central Baptist Church and retired in 2008 from Honda of America where he had been employed as an operator for 22 years.
The 50 year Marion resident is survived by his wife of 27 years, Diana K. (Gillispie) Howard; three sons, Ricky Lee (Toni) Howard of Spring, TX, Jeffrey D. (Carol) Howard of Toledo, OH, & Chadwick (Marla) Greenawalt of Marion; three brothers, Walter (Wanda) Howard of Marion, Gordon (Tammy) Howard of Marion, & Billy Howard of Salyersville, KY; a sister, Wanda Davis-Miller of Marion; two half brothers, Paul & Allison Douglas both of Salyersville, KY, a half sister, Nora Baure of Sayersville, KY; 12 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Reva Gibson; and four brothers, Hassel, Ransom, Darby, & Hammer Howard. The funeral service will be held in the Central Baptist Church by Pastor Ryan Struthers on Monday, July 18, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
Contributions in Jack's name may be given to the James Cancer Center.
A "Special Thanks" from his family is being sent out to: his granddaughter, Ashley Finch, nephew, Bobby Howard, brother, Gordon Howard, the Staff at the James Cancer Center, The Marion General Hospital Hospice Program, and all his friends & family.

Diane I am so sorry for your loss. I just now read about Jack's death in the Marion Star. I remember how he used to cut up with me when your video store was next door when I worked at HAND on State St. The last time I saw Jack was at the auction house on N. Main St. I didn't know he was sick. We both know he is in a better place and I'll keep you in my prayers that God helps you deal with his passing. Time will heal the pain. Diana my prayers are with you at this time. What wonderful memories I have of you and Jack. He has a great and quirkey sense of humor that we all love. I will carry Jack over my heart as I ride. I'll keep riding until we can find a cure for cancer. You know I am always with you both. Love you.

Sorry for the loss of your brother Jack Howard. Wow! He had another full year of life since he was first discovered to have cancer.
