Jerry Ferrell Obituary
MARION: Jerry W. Ferrell, of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2016.
He was born May 10, 1952 in Marysville to Norma and the late Donald Ferrell. He is survived by his sister, Peggy Ferrell, brother, Kelly (Janice) Ferrell, his wife of 43 years, Karen Ferrell, and their three children; Kristen Biehle, Kevin (Amber) Ferrell, and Greg (Kristin) Ferrell; as well as 2 grandchildren, Jake and Cora Ferrell.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald, and his son-in-law, Todd Biehle.
Jerry was a graduate of The Ohio State University and New England College of Optometry. He opened his first optometry practice in Marion in 1978 and has been serving patients in the community ever since at Premier Optometry Group. As a member of VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity), he participated in numerous missions, helping thousands in Central America who otherwise had no access to vision examinations or eyeglasses.
He was an avid reader, boater, and fan of all things Ohio State. His love for family was evident from watching the joy he took in playing with his grandchildren. Some of the fondest memories his family shares are of nights spent around the kitchen table playing board games.
His family will greet friends from 2 - 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 29, at Dayspring Wesleyan Church.

Hey Karen,
Kyle and I tried to get there for the funeral; but, I ended up subbing at RV that day!!! We will get our card to the Farrell's - Rest In Peace Dr. Farrell with my MOM and those other Marion Angels up there!!!

I am the VSRF for the Central Ohio VSR group (Tina and I are connected thru this group), and was connected to Dr. Ferrell thru Vison Source as well. He always was a supportive, kind doctor I enjoyed seeing at meetings. He will be missed. Sending prayers to the Ferrell family, as well as the "work family". I was not able to make it to the calling hours or the service, but have you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry & shocked to hear about Jerry. I live in Houston but have Always gone to Him to get my Eyes checked for I was in Marion at least once a year visiting Family & Never wanted an Eye Doctor in Houston for He was the Best!!! So Kind & An Excellent Thorough Doctor! I had just made my Appt. for December last month....Thinking of You All & May God Give You the Strength You so need at this Difficult time. I am so very Sad.
