CARDINGTON: Mary Lou Jenkins, age 75, of Cardington passed away Friday March 18, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Columbus on Sept. 11, 1940 to the late Thomas E. Daniel and Gladys M. (Williams) & Dick Fleming.

She grew up in Radnor and then moved to Cardington where she would meet her high school sweetheart, Clive Jenkins. Mary Lou was a 1958 graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School where she was May Queen and was crowned Homecoming Queen by Clive, who was captain of the football team. She and Clive were married on January 10, 1959 in the E.U.B. Church and they have enjoyed 57 years of marriage.

She was a devoted homemaker all her life and had also worked at Darlene's Flowers, Breece's Flower Shop and had retired from Covert Manufacturing in Galion to care for her ailing Mother.

Mary Lou was an active member of Marion Salem United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, served on various committees, and enjoyed using her gift of floral design to decorate the church for all occasions. She truly loved serving the Lord, was a prayer warrior for all, and cherished her church family.

Mary Lou was also a wonderful baker and was especially known for her pies, banana salad and made the best gravy. Her home was always filled with flowers, both inside and out. She loved working in her flower beds, reading her bible, watching classic movies and The Gaithers. Most importantly, her greatest love was her family.

Mary Lou will be greatly missed by her husband, Clive; children, Steve (Pam) Jenkins of Prospect, Robin Dawson of Columbus, and Julie (Rick) Roth of Cardington; grandchildren, Emily, Josh, Erica, Ryan, Nikki, Jeremy, Adam, Derek, Kaley, and Reanna; brothers, Charles (Nora) Daniel of Marion and Bill (Kathy) Daniel of Tiffin; sister in laws, Darlene (Dean) Ewart of Delaware and Dana Fleming of Hamilton.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by siblings Thomas Daniel, Richard Fleming, Joan Shoemaker, Bruce Daniel and Wayne Daniel.

Friends may call on Tuesday March 22, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Marion Salem United Methodist Church, 1640 Salem Rd., Caledonia. Her celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00PM at the Marion Salem United Methodist Church. Pastors Thomas Scott and James VanMeter will officiate and her burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.
