Paul Sines Obituary

Paul E. Sines, Jr.

MARYSVILLE: Paul E. Sines, Jr., age 67, of Marysville, died peacefully, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

A devoted husband, dedicated father and fun-loving grandpa, he was a true patriot and will be remembered as an "American flag-flyer." He served a combined total of 24 years with the Ohio National Guard and the US Army Reserves where he retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. He also retired in 2005 from the Whirlpool Corporation in Marion, where he worked for 40 years. He worked for Dayton, Power and Light as a meter reader following his retirement. He was the "family handyman" and enjoyed Ohio State football and NASCAR. Within the past year, despite his health complications, he continued to fish and coach- his two favorite passions. He loved to fish for Lake Erie walleye and also enjoyed ice fishing on Indian Lake. His most recent venture was to Western Ontario, Canada where he fished for Walleye and trophy Northern Pike.

A longtime coach, he was involved in little league baseball, junior football and girls' softball. He was a 1963 graduate of Marysville High School and a loyal supporter of Monarch football. His proudest moments were those activities involving his children and grandchildren.

He was born July 15, 1945 in Circleville to the late Paul E. and Mary Louise Fetherolf Sines; and was also predeceased by his brother, Tony Lee Sines; and his father-and mother-in-law, John "Crawdad" and Jean Simpson.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maralene Simpson Sines, whom he married February 28, 1970 at Marysville First United Methodist Church; his children, Chad (Amy) Sines of Milford Center, Troy Sines and Kara (Chris) Belt of Marysville; six grandchildren, Mason, Madeline and Veronika Sines and Miranda, Matthew and Marcus Belt; two sisters-in-law, Marsha (Dean) Manning of Piketon and Glenda Sines of Cable; nieces and nephews, Wendy (Eric) Demchak, Michael (Angela) Williams, Brooke (Dan) Fox and Jesse (Brittany) Sines; great nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Abigayle, Adelyn, Amberly, Isaiah, Hope, Autumn, Hunter, Skylar and Gavin; and many other relatives and good friends, including his two best friends, Les Larrison and Wayne Rees.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Tuesday at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Pastor Ed Beeson will officiate and interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Marysville Christian Church or Honor Flight of Columbus, P.O. Box 12036, Columbus, Ohio 43212. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com
