Robert Reece Obituary

MARION: Robert L. Reece, age 83, of 728 Uncapher Ave., Marion, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at 3:30 a.m. in the Community Health Care Center.
He was born on May 18, 1926 in Martel, Ohio to the late Frank and LaVerne (Ward) Reece. Robert was married on April 12, 1974 to Josie E. Phillips in Greenup, Ky. and she survives. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Robert is a member of Masonic Lodge #70 and the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church. Bob was a police officier in Galion, OH. for 11 years. He retired in 1991 after 35 years of service with the General Motors Corp. A Marion resident for the past 35 years, he moved here from Galion, Ohio.
He is survived by two sons, Larry (Lisa) Reece of New York, Bill (Ann) Reece of Kingsport, TN; a daughter, Sue Reece of Galion, OH; three stepsons, Larry Martin of Marion, D.J. Martin of Marion, Jerry (Linda) Martin of St. Paul, Minn.; four step daughters, Betty Whiteman of Richwood, OH, Joanne (Dan) Hayes of Raymond, OH, Janis Holbrook of Marion, Carol Albinack of FL; a sister; Mabel Bershfer of AZ; 11 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
A brother, Ed Reece preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, at 7:00 p.m. in the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church. The Rev. Fred Buckner will officiate along with Rev. Cory Carroll and Rev. Jim McIntire. Burial will be at a later date. Contributions can be made in Robert's name to the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
