Mr. Webb was, by far, one of the hardest AND most effective teachers I've ever had, for anything. The "push" he gave me in my 8th grade year carried me through high school English and even enabled me to test out of 2 years of college English afterward! I believe I literally learned NOTHING about communication in the English language after being his student. A few years before he passed, I sent for his critique a draft of a novel I'd written, and, true to form, he found many errors, but he also told me he enjoyed the read and my thinking of him. He was a forceful, yet consummate gentleman, and his influence upon me only grows stronger as the years pass and the more people I encounter in this life.

Pam, I am sorry to read about your loss of your father. He always beamed when he spoke of you , when we were students together at Harding. And in later years, when I would see him and ask about you, he was so loving and proud of you and your family. He will be missed by many. Again, my sympathy to you and your family.

I knew Mr. Webb through Props 'n' Queues but never took one of his classes. He inspired us all to our best by believing in us and prompting our best impulses. Our Senior play was Ann Frank and it was a superb experience thanks to his sensitive but demanding leadership. And he was exemplary in staying in touch - he came to so many reunions! It would be nice if other teachers did too!

Like so many others, Mr. Webb was the best English teacher I had while in school, and he actually inspired me to study English education in college and later become an English teacher at Marion Harding. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are w his family.

Mark, Pam, & families, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of both of your parents so close together. I missed Mr. Webb at our 50th class reunion (HHS class of '64) a few weeks ago as he was always so faithful in attending our reunions. I have many wonderful memories of Bob and Betty Jo in and out of school. Mr. Webb introduced me to plays at the college level through Props & Q's and Mom (Pauline Hedding) taught at Silver St. with Betty Jo. Bob did a lot of painting at Mom and Dad's house. Your parents were such wonderful people and will be greatly missed. I extend my sympathy to the family.

Mr. Webb was one of only 2 teachers I truly remembered from high school. He inspired me to use proper English which was beneficial in my writing and editing thru the years. RIP Mr Webb.

At a reunion of our Class '62, I was taking a break outside the Country Club. It was dark. Mr Webb tracked me down and asked me to sit with him. He shared something with me that I never knew. As it turns our, the principal, Gatch, had called my Mom and told her I would never amount to anything. Mr. Webb had considered quiting when Gatch told the entire faculty about it. Mr. Webb wanted to tell me how proud he was of me for actually amounting to quite a bit. He asked me to send him some of my writing. It ended up being a nearly 200 page collection called FOR MR. WEBB. He read it all and to an extent that I love, sort of GRADED it too. I loved him very much and am indebted to him for closing a very wide open loop in my life and for remaining a teacher to all of us lucky enough to be under his wisdom.

Dear Pam, Mark & families,
I mourn the loss of your dad, a wonderful educator and friend to me. Mr. Webb enthusiastically encouraged, coached and engaged me as a MHHS speech student in class, throughout stage productions and during WMRN radio broadcasts. Because he picked me to perform, I grew in courage and self confidence. I am forever thankful. To this day, his unforgettable lessons reappear when I need them. Teaching for him was as natural and genuine as his enthusiasm for his students. Mr. Webb was my all-time favorite teacher, and I am so glad in recent years to have had several opportunities to tell him how much he has meant to me. God bless you and your families during this difficult time. You are in my prayers,
Sue "Halbert" Imbody, MHHS 1964, Lakeland, Florida

I worked with Betty Jo at Silver Street School. She was a dear lady. Mr. Webb had been my teacher (high school Speech). When I saw them together it was always," Hi Betty Jo. Hi Mr. Webb". I had so much respect for him as my teacher that I could never call him Bob. We always laughed about it. We will miss them both.

Mr. Webb was one of the greatest teachers I ever had. He was a kind man who cared for his students and pushed them to excel. Nearly twenty-five years after being his student at Baker Middle School, the lessons I learned from Mr. Webb, not only about English, but also about setting and adhering to high standards, have stayed with me. My deepest condolences to his family.

I was saddened to read of Mr. Webb's passing. I had the privilege of being one of Mr. Webb's students at Harding. He was an outstanding educator, both well-liked and well-respected by those of us in his classes. Beyond that, he was a quality individual and a genuinely nice and caring man. My sincere sympathies to Mr. Webb's family. He will be truly missed.

My condolences to all Mr. Webb's family. I was never in his classes, but will always remember and appreciate his direction of Annie Get Your Gun, and his support of my longer-than-dress-code hair, a feature of the role of Bufallo Bill, the name he called me for years afterward. I was pleased to sit next to Mr. Webb when he joined the class of '72 for our 40th reunion dinner. I will miss him

Mr. Webb was the sort of teacher who inspired students. His speech class not only helped me to be less fearful in front of people, but in giving me courage to try out and play a part in our '61 Senior Class Play. He was a positive influence as teacher of both my son and daughter. My daughter went on to become an English teacher also. Mr. Webb remained a friend from '61 to the present He was much loved. He will be missed.

He was the one of the toughest, yet greatest teachers I ever had the pleasure of learning from. I was a neighbor and a paper boy for him and Betty Jo when I was kid, so I knew them well. They both will be dearly missed.

Mark and Pam,
I was sorry to hear of the loss of your parents. They were good friends of Lorrie and me. Your mother was so kind to our children, they will never forget her. Bob was my teacher, my colleague, and my friend. I will think often of both and may God grant them eternal life together.

It was an honor to teach in Rm. 101 at Harding High School. It was never my room, it was always Mr. Webb's room. He was my speech teacher when I was a senior. He always had a kind word for my Telecomm class. There was a Jones Hall, a Lane Hall and I believe that there should be a Webb Hall.

Mark and Pam, I can't believe you have lost both of your parents within a couple of weeks of each other. As close as they were, I can only imagine your dad was devastated by losing her. They were both so supportive, attending many of my singing performances over the years. I loved and admired them both. Praying for you as you deal with all this.
