EDWARD MCINTEER III Edward Bennett McInteer III, 69, of Marshall, MO, died Monday, February 10, 2025, at his home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2025, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Inurnment will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church (for building repairs) or Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra. An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com Born December 2, 1955, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Donald Eugene McInteer and Mary Margaret Sutton Waters. Ed was a lifelong resident of Marshall, graduated from Marshall High School in 1973 and earned his bachelor's degree from Missouri Valley College. While in high school Ed developed a love for photography and music. He was the photographer for the Marshall High School Noctua and a member of the marching band. While in the band, Ed was encouraged by Michael T. Waters to play the tuba, which he did. He always appreciated that encouragement and had a lifelong friendship with Michael from that encouragement. He continued to foster his photography passion with the mentorship of Lee Bearden, owner of Lee's Studio. While enjoying those hobbies, he still found time to work at Gibson's Discount Center. While attending Missouri Valley College he met Carol Deck Carton, and they were married on December 31, 1983. Ed earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri School of Law in Kansas City. Ed had worked as a police officer at Marshall Police Department, municipal judge for the city of Marshall, property manager and fundraiser, and had his own law firm, McInteer Law Office. His fondness of music continued throughout his life and he was an over 50 year member of Marshall Municipal Band and Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to photography and music, Ed was an avid antique lover, and bbq competitor. He enjoyed teaming up with Spencer Fricke, Les McKinney, Darrell Darling and Phil Giffen, and entering competitions and they won awards at the Missouri State Fair and the American Royal. Ed was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where he directed the bell choir for 25 years. In addition to his wife, Carol, of the home, he is survived by their three daughters: Aimee McInteer Iliff (Del) of Grain Valley, Tara Hampton (Richard) of Raymore and Carrie Marshall (Jason) of Springfield; four grandchildren: Symone, Aleksei, Emily and Shemar; three great-grandchildren: Kai, Nadia and Amias; three siblings: Dona Hahn (Rob) of Warsaw, Mike McInteer (Sandy) of Rosenberg, TX and Rich Waters (Debbie) of Baton Rouge, LA; a half-sister, Holly Bingham (Greg) of Kansas City; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by a stepsister, Marcia Ann Kurtz.
