Julia Richter, age 94, of Marshfield, passed away Saturday December 5, 2015 at Aster Assisted Living in Marshfield. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (1414 W. 5th Street) in Marshfield. Fr. Eric Berns will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be held in the Restlawn Cemetery in Wausau, Wisconsin at a later date.
Julia was born May 17, 1921 in Deerbrook, WI the daughter of John and Gertrude (Govekar) Rudolph. She received her education in the Antigo School System. On September 23, 1939 Julia was united in marriage to Gilbert Richter in Antigo. She enjoyed 76 years of marriage to her loving spouse, "Gilly". After the couple retired, they traveled throughout the United States.
Julia worked as an Accountant for Sears Roebuck in Wausau. She thoroughly enjoyed her work as an accountant and possessed a love for math.
She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and relatives. She particularly enjoyed the beauty of birds and deer that frequented her place of residence. Julia relished the time spent with her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren especially at their lake home.
Julia is survived by her husband: Gilbert Richter; daughter: Julianne Ferries; grandchildren: Lee Ann Dominick and Lynn Marie Schweiger; and great grandchildren: Adam, Bryan, Alyssa, and Ben. Julia is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She truly will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Gertrude; as well as her siblings: John, Joseph, Anton, Francis, and Mary.
