Allen, Margaret M.

Margaret M. Allen, age 83 of Spencer, died peacefully, Monday, November 12, 2012 at St Joseph's Hospital, surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield, WI. Interment will be in the Mt Vernon Cemetery, Tomah, Wisconsin. A time of visitation will be held from 10-11:00AM Thursday at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield, WI.

Margaret was born November 2, 1929 in Wisconsin, a daughter of Ralph and Ilo (Reynolds) Whisler. She was a graduate of the East Rockford High School in IL.

On December 31, 1952 Margaret Whisler was united in marriage to Floyd D. Allen at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockford, IL.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Margaret was employed as a School Bus Driver, for the Winnebago Illinois School District.

Margaret was especially proud of her grandchildren and cherished the time she could spend with them. She also loved gardening, knitting, and being active within her community.

She was very involved in the Winnebago School District as a member of the PTA, Booster Club, and Winnebago Lioness Club. She drove bus for the wrestling team and was active in the Community Council in Winnebago, Il.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Barbara Allen, Spencer, WI, Bonnie Anderson, Rockford, IL, Brad (Liz) Allen, Loves Park, IL and Brian (Julie) Allen, Avondale, AZ, nine grandchildren, Eric Diamond, Sarah Diamond, Jason Allen, Erica Allen, Stephen Allen, Adam Allen, Coreen Noel, Zachary Allen and Kelsey Allen, and two great grandchildren, Jordan Allen and Rian Allen. One sister, Marie Whisler and one brother, Richard Whisler further survives Margaret. She will be dearly missed by Makayla and Chailey Robinson, who held a special place in Margaret's heart.

Her husband, Floyd and sisters, Wanda Stover and Alice Hardwick and a brother, Ralph Whisler Jr. preceded Margaret in death.
