Michael Isaacson Obituary

Michael J. Isaacson, 44, of Hewitt, died on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at his home under the care of his family and Ministry Home Hospice.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 ,from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Rembs Funeral Home.

Michael was born on Oct. 2, 1966, in Wakefield, Mich., to Richard and Kathleen (Peters) Isaacson. He was a 1985 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School and a 1990 graduate of Carroll College in Waukesha. He was united in marriage to Karen J. Ertl on Oct. 20, 1990, in Auburndale.

Mike had been a Certified Public Accountant at Pepsi America in Rolling Meadows, Ill., and in 2002 became employed at Felker Brothers Corporation, Marshfield, until the present time.

A beloved father and husband, Mike touched a multitude of lives and will be forever missed by those that loved him.

Mike's pride and joy were his children and he loved to watch them grow. His smile, which could light a room, was ever present in the company of Kelli and Ryan. His influence is apparent and can be seen through Kelli's quick wit and Ryan's determination.

While quiet in nature, Mike's personality shined through when surrounded by his family and friends. He always made time for his children and his loving wife. His devotion to them was complete and without requirement. Mike was quick to listen, offer advice or tell a quick joke to those he encountered. He often told stories of his college days, meeting Karen and his adventures with his children. These stories were a part of Mike and always told with a spark in his eye and interlaced with a humor that would inevitably invoke a smile. As an avid sports fan, Mike remained stoically loyal to his cherished Vikings despite teasing from his Packers loving in-laws. Bets were placed and games were won and lost but as a testament to his character, Mike's determination and belief kept him devoted to the team in purple.

Mike will forever be remembered for his kind soul, his love for his family and his gentle manner. His strength and drive are gifts he bestowed upon us that we will now carry for him. While his time with us was far too short, he leaves a trail of memories that we are grateful to have and thankful to never forget.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; and a daughter and a son, Kelli Isaacson and Ryan Isaacson. He is also survived by his mother, Kathleen Olson of Marshfield; a sister, Lisa (Jim Lewelling) Isaacson-Lewelling of Abuda, United Emirates; a brother, Bart (Katrina) Isaacson of Weston; and his maternal grandmother, Marialyce Peters of Marshfield. He is further survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jeanne and Ken Ertl of Auburndale; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff (Teresa) Ertl, Debbie (Brad) Gregor and Roger (Jodi) Ertl; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his father; a daughter, Samantha Ann; his maternal grandfather and his step-father.

Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Ministry Home Health and Hospice, caregivers, family and friends.

Mike had such an amazing personality. The thing I admired about him was his determination - he always stood up for what was right. The best memories I have are from softball, he was always after me to play because he believed in me even when no one else did. He will most definitely be missed. May he RIP; thoughts and prayers with Karen, Kelli, and Ryan!

Kathy, Bart Lisa, and family—I am sorry for your loss. I will always have fond memories of Mike, having coached him in baseball. I ran into Mike a couple years ago at Auburndale while he was coaching a softball game (his daughter's team I believe?) and I was broadcasting that game for WDLB. We had a chance to talk and reminisce for a few minutes before the game and I remember leaving and feeling that It was great to have seen him again, and that he was doing something he really enjoyed. Again, my condolences to all who knew and loved Mike.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Isaacson family. Mike was truly one of the greatest people I know. He was awesome at being a softball coach and making us girls smile by being goofy when we were having a bad day. I will never forget him or all the things he has taught me through softball.
