Elaine Plaster Obituary
Elaine Brodie Plaster, 78, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025. She was born on January 20, 1947, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, to the late Bernard Morris Brodie and Nora Byrd Brodie. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Dyer Plaster and brother, William "Billy" Brodie.
Elaine got her Master's Degree while raising her 3 boys and was a Professor, teaching Computer Science, at Patrick and Henry Community College and Ferrum College until her retirement. She was a member of and faithfully attended Trinity Baptist Church in Snow Creek, Virginia. Elaine spent time traveling the Crooked Road Trail with special friends, quilting, serving her community, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Elaine is survived by her sons, Todd Wayne Plaster, Brad Morris Plaster (Amy), and Drew Conner Plaster; sister, Brenda French; two sisters-in-law, Geneva Brodie and Sylvia Plaster; and grandchildren, Conner Daniel Plaster, Anna Diane Plaster, and Lainee Margaret Plaster.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 5 pm to 7 pm, at Norris Funeral Services – Martinsville. The funeral service will on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 11 am, at Norris Funeral Services – Martinsville. A burial will follow at Henry Memorial Park in Bassett, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, https://donorservices.alz.org/.

I worked with Elaine in Cub Scouts. I have a hard time coming up with a word to describe how wonderful she was. Always smiling, always helpful, in every way a plus. So sorry to hear of her passing way too soon.
