William Thomas "Billy" Maydian

William Thomas "Billy" Maydian, age 79, of The Harmony Collection at Roanoke Memory Care, 4414 Pheasant Ridge Road, Roanoke, VA, formerly of Ferrum, died on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the nursing home.

Billy was born on February 4, 1946, in Selma, VA, to the late Thomas Carlyle Maydian and Margaret Jeane Hocker Maydian Keller. Following his graduation from Clifton Forge High School, Billy furthered his education at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College and proceeded to earn a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Virginia Tech. He served in the Virginia Army National Guard and retired from the United States Army Corps of Engineers as a Resource Manager of Philpott Lake. Throughout his life, he remained a fan of Virginia Tech sports and Green Bay Packers football, and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting deer and turkey, and trout fishing.

He is survived by a daughter, Tara Kay Scott of Stuart; a son, Darren Thomas Maydian (Heather) of Moneta; and four grandchildren, Caleb Michael Borden, Kaylee Maydian Scott, Carter Thomas Maydian, and Riley Katherine Maydian.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Lynn Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service. The family will visit with friends on Saturday afternoon from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge High School Alumni Association, P.O. Box 118, Clifton Forge, VA. 24422.
