Bridget M. Fabbri 1930 - 2013 SPRINGFIELD - Bridget "Bridie" M. (Cahalan) Fabbri, 82, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield passed away peacefully, early Monday morning, January 14, 2013 surrounded by her family at her home. Bridget, daughter of the late John and Mary (Duggan) Cahalan was born in Castle Ellen, County Galway, Ireland on July 29, 1930. Raised in Castle Ellen she graduated from schools there. Bridget immigrated to the United States in 1954 and resided in Springfield for the past 58 years. She was employed by the former Western Mass Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice for 18 years and retired in 1998. Bridget had previously worked at General Offset Printing for 25 years and at the Bakery Department for A&P. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Hope Church, and former member of the Hibernian Club and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1849 of Chicopee. With her husband Joseph, Bridget loved to go ballroom dancing. Bridget is survived by her husband of 52 years, Joseph A. Fabbri, Jr; four brothers, Thomas Cahalan of Birmingham , England, Patrick Cahalan of Manchester, England, Peter Cahalan and Brian Cahalan both of Castle Ellen, Ireland; a sister, Nora Owens of Tuckahoe, New York; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bridget's funeral will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Sampson's Funeral Home, 710 Liberty Street, Springfield followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Hope Church 840 Page Blvd. Springfield. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions in Bridget's memory may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104 and or to the American Heart Association, 54 D Wayside Avenue, West Springfield, MA 01089. Visiting hours for Bridget will precede her funeral on Friday from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

Both of you have been such wonderful neighbors for so many, many years. We can't imagine the overwhelming sadness you are feeling, but we wanted you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Our neighborhood will miss her greatly!
