Stephanie Rachel Croteau was abruptly and tragically taken from her loved ones in an early morning car accident on October 6, 2023. She was a beloved daughter of Jeffrey L. Croteau, Sr. and the late Kim M. Fairbanks. She was born on May 15, 1995, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Stephanie attended the Springfield Renaissance School where she was a member of the class of 2013. She was an honor roll student as well as a varsity soccer player and a cross country team member. In her elementary school years, she played soccer for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. Stephanie was a wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, and sister amongst other titles. Her most revered title was that of "mother". Her children were her world. She was a loving and fierce protector of her three beloved children. She was determined to prove herself and stubborn to a fault. Stephanie's happy place was her Pepere's lake house where she could be found most weekends in the summer with her family. She looked forward to the Big E each September and to vacations in Maine and Florida. She most recently worked as a server for the Fifties Diner in Chicopee, MA. Prior to that she worked as a DSWI for the Department of Developmental Services. Stephanie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Christopher Serra Sr.; children, Michele Bodley and Christopher Serra Jr.; her father and stepmother, Jeffrey L. Croteau Sr., and Nicole Croteau; stepfather, Scott Fairbanks and father-in-law and mother-in-law, David Serra, and Geraldine Duffy. She also leaves her sister and brother-in-law, Alyssa and Casey Straight; and brother Jeffrey Croteau, Jr. and his companion, Morgan Pokrzywa, Pepere, Lawrence Croteau and Nana and Grandpa, Diane and Dan Przechocki. She leaves a niece, Addison Straight and two nephews, Jackson Croteau and Francis Straight, along with many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Kim M. Fairbanks, her daughter, Aubrianna L. Serra, maternal grandfather, Francis LaValley, paternal grandmother, Linda (Record) Croteau and aunts, Michele Bailey, Melissa Croteau and Lisa Kervian. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 407 Boston Road, Springfield, MA at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Avenue, Springfield, MA.
