Gerald Lynn McClain, 79, of Mayfield passed away on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, peacefully, surrounded by his family. Born June 20, 1943, on Father's Day to Mabel Roberts McClain and Homer D. McClain.

Gerald was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mayfield, where he served in various positions. He was a retired car dealership owner and an Independent Insurance Agent. Gerald was a 53 year member of the Mayfield Lions Club, where he served as president (two terms), District Governor and various other offices.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Joyce Pickard McClain; two daughters, Deanna Lynne (Jim) Eberts of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, and Christine Renee McClain Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Rachel Cornelius and Sarah (Ben) Hancock; one grandson, Adam Johnson; two great grandsons, Collin Cornelius and Lochlann Hancock; one bonus great granddaughter, Lauranna Hancock; one sister, Barbara June McClain Sanderson; and several nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a niece, Brenda Sanderson Cobb; and his parents, Homer D. and Mabel Roberts McClain.

Funeral services for Mr. Gerald Lynn McClain will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield. Rev. Joey Reed, Rev. Joe Hanson and Rev. Mark Stephens will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at the funeral home.
