MAYSVILLE — Billy Paul Cobb of Alexandria, Ky., passed away Nov. 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Billy was born at Hayswood Hospital on Feb. 28, 1949, in Maysville son of the late Lewis Paul Cobb and Nellie Hord Cobb.
He was a 1967 graduate of Maysville High School and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving his country in the states as well as Vietnam and Germany from 1969 through 1971.
After his service to his country he started Cobb Radiator Shop on Pelham Street and in 1973 he and his Dad built Paul Cobb Body Shop and Radiator Shop at 415 Buckner Street in Maysville. He ran the shop until August of 2010 when he retired. Billy celebrated his 40th year of radiator service to not only the Maysville community but the other surrounding counties and many in Ohio.
After coming home from service, he met his wife, Kay Sherman Cobb. They were married in Sept. 1972. In 1974 they were blessed with their daughter Shannon Gayle. In 1999, they were blessed with their son-in-law, A. J. Natale from Aberdeen, Ohio. Shannon and A.J. blessed them with a granddaughter, Abigail Blanche (Abby) Natale, a sophomore at NKU and grandson, Alexander Joshua (Alex) Natale, a junior at Campbell Co. High School in Alexandria, Ky.
Papaw often introduced them as his "Favorite Granddaughter and Favorite Grandson", which always drew a chuckle from the both as they are his only granddaughter and grandson. Later in years in 2010, when Billy and Kay decided to retire, they closed both businesses and moved to Alexandria, Ky. to be close to their family and also enjoyed many camping trips with family and friends which brought them a lot of joy.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nellie Cobb, and his mother and father-in law, Jody and Evelyn Sherman and his mamaw-in-law who was like his own mamaw, Blanche Polllitt.
Funeral services for Billy Paul Cobb will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, with Rev. Steve Creech officiating. Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be A.J. Natale, Alex Natale, J.D. Coffman, Ken Owens, Jim Miller, and Mike Hollihan. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
