FAIRVIEW — Louetta J. Curtis, 94, of Fairview, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025, surrounded by family at The Hospice Care Center in Maysville.
She was born on July 3, 1931, in Fleming County to the late Reuben and Nellie Graves. She was the widow of William S. "Buddie" Curtis, who passed away in 2019.
She was a graduate of May's Lick High School. She was a member of the former Fairview Christian Church, Fairview. In her younger years, she worked in various office roles for Western and Southern Life Insurance, Service City and several tobacco warehouses in Maysville.
She also helped her husband run Bud's Grocery in Fairview, as well as spending years with him on the farm raising tobacco, operating a dairy and adjusting tobacco hail insurance in their spare time. She would also eventually retire from Fleming County Schools after 27 years of driving a school bus. Later she owned and helped operate the Ewing-Fleming County Fair for 13 years.
She is survived by her daughter Angie (Jamie) Black of Fairview; her granddaughter, Amber (Josh) Irwin and her great-grandchildren Jordan and Paisyn Irwin, who affectionately knew her as Grandma. Also surviving her are her brother-in-law, Paul (Loretta) Curtis of Elsmere, KY and sisters-in-law; Mary Etta Graves of Ewing, Mary Ruth Graves of Bellbrook, Ohio, Carolyn Flaugher of Florence and Betty Curtis of Mount Sterling, several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew Robbie (Anna) Graves of Ewing. She also leaves behind a close family friend Lacy Lykins.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers; William (Billie) Graves and Robert (Bobby) Graves as well as her sister, Norma Ginnan and her husband Jerry Ginnan. Also preceding her in death were brothers-in-law, Gordon Curtis and Jake Flaugher.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville with Jeff Ginnan officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home after 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Black, Josh Irwin, Jordan Irwin, Robbie Graves, Jeff Ginnan, Billy Getz Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Leet and Paisyn Irwin.
