NICHOLASVILLE — Mark Richard Tubbesing, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on June 9, 2025, in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., surrounded by his family.
Mark was born in Dayton, Ohio, on Aug. 1, 1956, to Dick and Carol McCune Tubbesing. He lived in Kettering, Ohio, until 1968, when his family moved to Maysville.
He graduated from Mason County High School and Maysville Community College. He had a short career in retail management in Indiana and Ohio, before moving to Lexington in 1980, working in contractor sales with Van Deren Hardware.
In 1990, Mark became co-owner of Aladdin's Glass and Screen Products, and he treasured the relationships he developed over the years. He was especially proud of working with his son, Rick.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Kathleen Comer Tubbesing; his children, Rick (Caitlin) Tubbesing, Laura (Carlos) Armenteros, and Sarah (Bill) Coleman, and his four grandchildren, Elena and Sofia Armenteros, Graham Tubbesing, and Liam Coleman. Also surviving are two sisters, Barb (Jerry) Jefferson and Karen (Mike) Ravencraft, two nephews, Clint (Adair) and Dean (Faith) Ravencraft, and five great-nieces and nephews. Mark's memory will also be cherished by the Comer family, including Kathleen's nine brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, David.
Mark was an avid sports fan. He especially loved cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cincinnati Reds. He loved playing golf and spending time at his second home at Herrington Lake. He enjoyed taking his family and friends out on his boat.
Mark was a loving husband, doting father and grandfather, a hard worker, kind-hearted, generous to a fault, and always full of life and laughter. His infectious personality touched the lives of many who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
