Patricia Cascio Obituary

MAYSVILLE — Patricia Marie Cascio (Smutny), 83, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.

She was born in Berwyn, Ill., on March 17, 1942, to the late Edward and Hazel Smutny.

She married the love of her life, Terry on July 2, 1960. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Pat moved to Maysville with her family in 1981. She opened The Strawberry Patch Antique and Craft Shop in Old Washington, KY. She loved searching old barns and properties for antiques (with permission of course). She was very artistic and enjoyed crafting and sewing handmade items for her shop as well as for her children and grandchildren. She also used these talents to give back to her community donating many items to local charities. She was an animal lover and known to give aid to animals in need and donate to animal related charities. Another hobby she enjoyed with her husband was cooking. Their wonderful flair for cooking up dishes will be greatly missed.

Pat is survived by her children Jeffery (Sara) Cascio of Huntley, Ill., Timothy (Anne) Cascio, Stephen (Jessica) Cascio and Laura (Robert) Kitchen all of Maysville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren Cloe Cascio, Andrew Cascio, Sam Cascio, Nicholas Cascio, Jacob (Allison) Cascio, Marcus Cascio, Allie Cascio, Lindsey (Ryan) Woods and Lane Gifford and one great-grandchild Lauren Cascio.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Terry Cascio and a sister Carole Haines.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
