Anita Sawyer Obituary
Anita L. Sawyer, 50, of Allentown, died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Thomas J. Sawyer. They observed their 5th wedding anniversary last May. Born in Lehighton. She was the daughter of Forrest Holtzer of Lehighton and the late Margaret (Fritz) Holtzer. She worked as a CNA at the Phoebe Home, Allentown for 8 years retiring on 2009. Prior, She was a CNA at Cedarbrook, S. Whitehall Twsp. She was a former member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Slatington. She served on the Ladies Auxiliary at American Legion Post 576, Allentown. She was a member of the Lioness Club and the Woodlawn Fire Co. Survivors: Survived along with husband and father; daughter Natasha Merkel of Allentown; son Richard Bowman, Jr. of Chester County; step-sons David Sawyer of Reading and Andrew Sawyer of Lansdale; step-daughter Katie Harner of Pottstown; brother Michael Holtzer of Missouri; and eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by step-mother Minnie Holtzer. Services: Memorial 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Trexler Funeral Home 1625 Highland St. Allentown.
