I have many fond memories of "Annie B." as she was called by the Fogelsville Staff. As a new Reading Specialist at the school in 1972, I marveled at how her children could read and write so well. I was eager to learn what techniques she used to produce such results. She allowed me to visit her classroom where I marveled at her command of reading techniques and strategies. She integrated both reading and writing so effectively and was way ahead of her time. I compiled many notebooks filled with ideas for teaching beginning reading and shared them with other first grade classroom teachers which resulted in tremendous success. Her core sight vocabulary and systematic approach to phonics instruction were incredible and exactly what children needed to be successful readers and writers,
Annie B. was a unique individual who truly loved her students and never gave up on teaching each child to read. Her legacy lives on not only in her students but in many others who had the good fortune of being taught beginning reading using her extremely successful program.

Annie B Fritch was my 1st grade teacher in Fogelsville Elementary and she was a wonderful influence. My siblings and parents also remember her and recall what a character she was. She taught me to love reading as I still do today and I remember her vividly with fond memories. The angels will love her too!

I join the many who spent the first day of school with Miss Fritch in the Breinigsville School. Firm, Fair, Feisty Miss Fritch who gave her life to teaching in conditions far different from today. A Mentor to many, a respected woman to each one of us; Annie B. Fritch left the world a better place by her presence. We were all fortunate to have been touched by her guidance.

I WILL NEVER FORGET MISS FRITCH. SHE WAS MY VERY FIRST TEACHER AT THE OLD FOGELSVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. HER ROOM WAS IN THE BASEMENT RIGHT NEXT TO THE CAFETERIA. I WAS THIS LITTLE SCARED TO DEATH FIRST GRADER, BUT MISS FRITCH WAS THE KIND OF TEACHER THAT YOU KNEW MEANT BUSINESS ON ONE HAND, BUT ALWAYS MADE YOU FEEL VERY SAFE WITH HER AS YOUR TEACHER. YOU KNEW IF PUSH CAME TO SHOVE SHE WOULD BE THERE TO PROTECT YOU!! GOD BLESS YOU MISS FRITCH! YOU WERE A TEACHER IN EVERY RESPECT OF THE WORD AND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN BY YOUR STUDENTS.

Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Miss Fritch. She was my first teacher at the Breinigsville two room school. Not only was she an excellent teacher, but she was also a very caring one. Whenever I ran into her somewhere, she always remembered me. I'm sure all her students will have a kind spot somewhere in their hearts for her. Sincerely, Ron & Elsie Heist

Certainly the best teacher I have ever had. She was my first grade teacher and she provided me with a solid foundation of reading and writing. She also taught me more than just "book learning". Miss Fritch taught me the value of hard work and to have pride in all the work you do. "Once a task is just begun, never leave it 'till it's done; be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all." I can only imagine the hundreds of students she touched with her unique style.
