I was a practicing attorney in Allentown when Bart called me from California indicating he wanted to move and was looking for work. I told him it was not too cool to give up California for Pennsylvania! Because I did not know him at all, I reluctantly told him to stop by when he was in PA and he did. To this day, I don't know how he got my name or decided to contact me -- I was not a rich or established lawyer I did not know anything about him but gave him a chance to come in and work in my office. I taught him most of his foundational learning in bankruptcy law. Later in our experience, I ran into severe personal and financial setbacks and needed help - he was there and allowed me to use his office to which he had relocated; He wanted to live in the north of where we were, and eventually he did. My last word of him must have been soon before he died. He called me several years ago and said that if I needed help for any reason that I should contact him. I just tried to contact him years later and found this obituary. I am sorry and sad to lose a good and faithful friend. John Keller

I really loved how you always came to most of my events.
Whenever you came, you always brought gifts, took me some place fun and you will get upset whenever my mom forced you to take picture.

I will not forget everything you thought me. I love you Papi.

Dear brother Barton Gale -
Growing up in both the farmland and suburbs of Minnesota you taught me many things: feeding the cattle, sail-boating at Camp Shamineau, building dugouts- forts, and the value of speed reading with comprehension. We had special times with family during reunions in Foley and Darwin that allowed us time with the cousins, but also helped us find our roots to shape us for our adult lives. Soon, you were off to the military, and in pursuit of education that lead to your legal career. You chose to help those that needed a hand, and I thank you for your service. We will miss you Barton.
In sadness,
Dale

Through my deep sadness, I want to share a farewell to my brother, Barton Gale. You were my cute younger brother, smiley, inquisitive, sensitive and tenderhearted. You enjoyed reading and we joked that you had probably read all the books in the library! You could be stern but you once told me that under your serious exterior, you were a marshmallow...and you were. You would be shy about the out-pouring of love but it is well deserved. You will always be in our hearts and we will miss you more than you could ever know.
Love Forever,
Your sister, Sandy

To the family, our sincere sympathies. As kids I remember Gale coming to visit us on the farm. He was a happy and kind cousin, with a smile on his face. We grew up, we lost touch, and he became an attorney far away in Pennsylvania. We are sincerely sorry for your loss. May you find the strength you need.
