Brad Reifinger Obituary

Brad M. Reifinger, 47, of Emmaus, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He and his wife, Jillian A. (Miksch) Reifinger, would have celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary in July. Born in Allentown, he was a son of Robert O. and Sandra A. (Fatzinger) Reifinger of Center Valley. Brad was a 1993 graduate of Southern Lehigh High School and attended Kutztown University. He loved his work as a ride operator at Dorney Park and, most recently, as a swim instructor at the Emmaus Aquatic Club. A member of Grace U. C. C., Allentown, Brad played an active role in the church, including serving as a lector. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Phillies, and loved to accessorize with his collection of SWATCH watches. He enjoyed pinball, British murder mysteries, carnivals, and circuses where his favorite rides were wooden roller coasters and "dark rides." He was a fan of classic rock and was interested in the historical details of JFK's assassination. Willing to help anyone, Brad was a beacon of light in any room he entered.

Survivors: wife; daughter, Saffi K., at home; parents; brother, Robert D. and wife, Susan Reifinger of Naples FL; sister, Denyell B., wife of Dr. Eric Gerchman of Denmark ME. Brad was preceded in death by siblings, Todd D. Reifinger and Daneen A. Henninger.

Jillian and family,
I taught swimming with Brad at Swim-in Zone and then again most recently at Steel Fitness Premier. He was the most fun teacher I have ever worked with, bar none! We would get our students to do their lessons while playing games to engage them and learn while having fun. He was a really good man, good person and just loved his family. The day he told us he was going to be a father, he just beamed all day. For Brad, life was an adventure and he wanted to grab as much of it as he could. He was a wonderful guy and I will miss him very much. I know anyone who knew him feels the same. My thoughts are with you all.

As a former teacher at Southern Lehigh, I taught and coached over 5,000 students. Some of those students stood out more than others. Brad was one of them. I remember him for his warmth and pleasant personality. Brad was such a sweet guy. He and I had many debates about the Flyers and Phillies! In the years that followed, we kept in touch, and I continued to admire him for his courage. He never sent me a message in which he expressed anger or discouragement when he had every right to do so. Brad was one of the good guys! I love you, my friend. Rest well.
