Caroline A. Schiavone
Caroline A. Schiavone, 81, of Allentown, died Tuesday, January 3 in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Frances (Martin) Steirer. Caroline was the wife of Alexander G. Schiavone Sr., with whom she celebrated their 53rd anniversary in December, 2005. Caroline was a single needle sewing maching operator for various clothing manufacturers for many years. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Pauls Roman Catholic Church, Allentown. Survivors: Husband; son, Alexander Jr. and wife Heidi of Coopersburg; brother, William Steirer and wife LaVerne of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; sisters, Rose F. Ebert of Allentown, Helen Saunders of Lancaster, Frances S. Fandl of Allentown, Ann Sinclair and husband Jack of Santa Maria, California; granddaughter, Cara Schiavone. Caroline was predeceased by three brothers, John, Rudolph and Michael Steirer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday in K. V. Knopp Funeral Home, Inc. 46 E. Susquehanna Street, Allentown, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass at St. Pauls R. C. Church, Second and Susquehanna streets, Allentown. Friends and family may call 9:30 until time of service in the funeral home. Interment to follow in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Cemetery, Whitehall. Contributions: Memorial contributions in her name to the American Parkinsons Disease Association, 332 Gerard Avenue, Elkins Park, PA 19027.
