Charles D. Sandt, 61, of Saylorsburg, died Thursday, March 13 in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Nancy Stafford. They were married for thirty two years. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late David and Ardalene (Matthias) Sandt. He was a self-employed truck driver for fifteen years before retiring in 2012 and previously he had worked on the road crew for Ross Township for eight years. Prior to that he had worked at Bethlehem Steel for three years and for St. Regis Paper Co. in Nazareth for eight years. Charles liked to hunt and fish but he really loved driving his truck. Survivors: In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Betsyann Trefz of Downingtown and Carly Bitler of Emmaus; a stepdaughter, Nancy Hussmann of Edgar, NE; a sister, Kathleen Tordonato of Easton; a brother, Ronald Sandt of Amarillo, TX and six grandchildren, Charles Nolan, Hannah Dunn, Christopher Omacht, Laura Raffaele, Thomas Raffaele and Kassidi Hussmann. Services: Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 17 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. David Felker officiating. Cremation will have taken place in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
