Clark Kelly Obituary

Clark R. Kelly, 86, a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, died on Oct. 15, 2022, at Luther Crest in South Whitehall. He was the devoted husband of Myrna E. (Stahl) Kelly. Born on June 6, 1936, Clark was the youngest of the late George and Eva (Heimbach) Kelly's five children. He grew up on Jubilee Street and graduated from Emmaus High School.

Clark was a radioman first class in the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam from November 1966 to March 1970. He extended his stay so another could avoid going to Vietnam. His 20-year naval career took him all over the world, including Germany where he saw The Beatles play in a club. Clark later worked for 23 years as a clerk at PPL.

Clark gave up his bachelor ways when he met a cute server named Myrna at the Mercantile in Emmaus. The two married in 1984 and enjoyed a happy life on Third Street. Clark was a past commander of the Claude Fisher VFW in Emmaus and a past master of the Emmaus Masonic Lodge No. 792. He was a fan of word puzzles and western movies. He and Myrna would take his 1979 powder blue Thunderbird to car meets. Clark was a member of St. John's UCC in Emmaus.

Survivors: Wife, Myrna Kelly; Stepson, Rick Reinhard, and his wife, Katherine; Step-grandchildren, Erika and her husband, Max Morgan, and Alex Reinhard, his wife, Ali, and their son, Wolfgang; and nieces and nephews.

Services: 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A viewing will precede 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to St. John's UCC, 139 N. Fourth St., Emmaus, Pa. 18049.
