David Everitt Obituary

David A. Everitt IV, 24, of Saylorsburg passed away unexpectedly January 18, 2016 at his home. He was the beloved son of David Arthur Everitt III, and Susanne Elizabeth (Reynolds) McKenna, born September 20, 1991 in Allentown. During his youth, he loved playing baseball, football, and hockey. He enjoyed playing his bass guitar in the neighborhood band. He loved nature, enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing, skiing, and hiking. Every season of the year brought new adventures! He had just returned from a family vacation skiing, hiking and snowmobiling the Grand Teton mountains of Wyoming. This was quickly followed by an impromptu trip in Iceland with his love Ela Krebs and cousin Margaux Maynard. In Iceland, they snorkeled in the Artic Silfra Fissure's Glacial water and visited the many geothermal features of this island. David was already discussing his next adventure the night he returned. He attended Nazareth High School and graduated from Valencia College in Orlando Florida with an Associate's of Science degree in engineering. He was scheduled to begin the next chapter of his education by pursing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering. In the interim David was employed as an associate scientist at MEA Inc., of Bangor, PA. He was respected and admired for his ingenuity with hands on projects throughout his work career and at friends and family's homes. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Our beautiful son had an unassuming, comical and kind nature. He treasured the time he spent with his family. Especially important to him was the time spent with his grandparents. David had and has a special way of touching the hearts of everyone who knew him, and the memories of him are plentiful and vibrant. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Ross Alan Everitt and Jack William McKenna. Step parents: John McKenna and Tina Drake. Maternal grandparents: Randy and Betsy Laylon. Paternal grandparents: Joyce and David Everitt, Jr. and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. David was pre-deceased by his maternal grandfather, William R. Reynolds. Services: There will be a celebration of life service at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home Inc. of Nazareth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pennsylvania Parks and Forest Foundation: Jacobsburg EE center, 1845 Market Street Suite 202 Camp Hill, PA 17011. Dear Sue and Dave,
I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. I remember watching him grow up from across the street. I will never forget the first time I came over to help you out with David when he was born and the laugh we had in the kitchen when you went to change his diaper. May god bless you and keep you safe.

Sincerly,
Courtney Davenport
