David Prager was one of the finest and brightest physicians that I had the privilege to know for over thirty years. He was an esteemed colleague, gracious mentor, and good friend. His superb mind, excellent clinical judgment, quick wit, and absolue dedication to his patients, friends, and profession will always be remembered with fondness, admiration, and respect. Mary and her family will never forget the excellent and compassionate care Dave took of their late niece Kelly Gallagher who succumbed to leukemia many years ago.
Mary and I would like to extend to David's family our most heartfelt condolences.

To the Family of Dr. Prager, Our deepest sympathy as this time of loss, and also our gratitude. Dr. Prager was called in to see our "Grams" when she was diagnosed with multiplemyeloma 30 years ago. He explained what was wrong and what he thought she should do...and she did what he recommended....Because of the excellent care of Dr. Prager, along with Dr. Brislen and Dr. Bortz, we will be able to celebrate her 93'd birthday in September. He was a special man with special gifts he shared with the people of the Lehigh Valley, and he will be missed. With Sympathy and Gratitude, the Greenfield, Kaintz, Kucey, and Molchany Family

In the late 1970's Dr Prager took care of my father, John Marth. I wish my dad had gone to him sooner. He may have had a longer time with his grandchildren. Dr. Prager was so caring. I really think he felt our loss as much as we did.

My deepest sympathy to Rhoda and the family of Dr. Prager. To read of his many accomplishments in life is amazing. He was truly a great doctor and a special person to many in the Lehigh Valley. I remember his kindness (and Rhoda's) when I babysat Brett and Matthew when you lived at Helfrich Springs Apts. May happy memories and the pride you feel for this special doctor bring you comfort and strength at this sad time.

Dear Rhoda and family,
I was shaken to read of Dave's passing. Please accept my heartfelt empathy for your tremendous loss. He was truly a great man. I consider it a privilege to have worked with the both of you and appreciate all that Dave brought to medicine in the Lehigh Valley. I remember his first tiny 'Spec Hem Lab' on the West St side of "Allentown General Hospital" c.1970.
I also remember being able to read his signature on Rx's before it became simply a P followed by a straight line!!!!! I hope that made you smile a bit. Whatever brought you and Dave to the LV was certainly our good fortune. Thank you Dr David Prager, Thank you.
May G_D be with you always Rhoda.

I am a three time survivor of AML thanks to the knowledge of Dr. Prager. He spent many hours talking to me during these bouts with cancer and helping me through the difficult times. I always felt as though he was challenging me to survive. I feel if it were not for his expert opinion I may have been told there was nothing further to do for me. The oncology world will be missing a wonderful doctor.

My heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the Prager family. I knew him while working at LVH and found that underneath that gruff exterior beat a heart of compassion and a man who was a kind soul. His contributions to the medical field are immeasurable. Dr. Prager was a true leader and visionary. God Bless and may He give you all strength.

I am deeply saddened to hear that such a great man has been lost ot the ages. Without him I would have lost my mother when I was only 16. Dr Prager was a tough doctor in the beginning, and my mother was not going to continue with him, but after talking it over with one of his nurses, she saw things his way. She then told him if he did not call her by her first name she would leave, he did. They were fast friends after that. He called her the miracle lady, and she knew he was the best doctor in the country. I will never forget the last time he saw her, he needed to tell her he could do no more for her; they held each others hands and cried. She thanks him for all the many years he gave her, and he said he would never forget her. I know my mother was waiting for him to welcome him home.
God bless the Prager family, amd know he will always be missed.
Sincerely,
Karen Kratzer-Shields
proud daughter of Marie Kratzer the miracle lady. She was given 3-5 years and lived 25 years, because of David Prager.

To Dr. Prager's family - sincere sympathy on your loss. The wonderful memories of his life and your time together will be cherished as your life goes on.
The years spent working for Dr. Prager were the most interesting, challenging and happiest of my life. He was an incredible physician, mentor, teacher, and friend. He encouraged everyone to do their best, and he cared so much about oncology care. He was always cutting edge, and always seeing the big picture, yet he took care of all the little details too. There are no words that can adequately express the positive impact David Prager had on cancer care in the Lehigh Valley.
