Dawn Huff Obituary

Our beloved mother and best friend Dawn D. Huff, 80, of Allentown, formerly of Center Valley, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, while in the comfort of loving family. She was the wife of Gary L. Huff. Dawn was born in Allentown, daughter of the late Joseph B. and Arlean E. (Kleckner) Stringer. She was a graduate of William Allen High School, class of 1960. She was employed at General Electric for many years before retiring in 1985. Later, she became a Realtor for John Locher Century 21 Real Estate. Dawn was a member of the former St. James Lutheran Church, Allentown.

Dawn had an ability to put people at ease and to make fast friends. She was known for her quick wit and unsparing humor. At the same time, her compassion and empathy touched the hearts of the people who knew her. Dawn was an animal lover who owned both an AKC-registered show dog and several dogs adopted from shelters. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed antique auctions.

Dawn was a proud and involved mother and grandmother, who loved to attend academic, sports, and artistic events in which her children and grandchildren participated. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, and especially valued the memories of trips to Alaska; Reno, Nevada; Yellowstone; and Ireland.

Our hearts are truly broken and living life without her will never be the same. We will take the love and wisdom she has given us and carry on with a piece of her until we meet again. Soar high, Dawn!

Huff both of Allentown; sister Dolly, wife of Lee Butz of Allentown; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren Nicholas and wife Akiko Chiba-Musolino, Katie and husband Jon Stern, Sarah, Tessa, C.J. and Mason; great-grandchildren Ella, Miles, Theodore and Sam.

We send our most heartfelt condolences upon the passing of your mother. I first met her in jr. high and we later reconnected in Center Valley when you boys played football with our sons. We shared many happy times at games. She will be sorely missed.
