I was shocked to hear of Denise's passsing. I last saw her about 7 years ago at a Parkland Class Reunion and she looked the same as she did back in high school. I tried to think back to when I met Denise and I think it may have been in Elementary School at Parkway Manor. I can't believe she's gone. I'll always remember Denise and John doing a line dance at my wedding. I'm lucky to have that on video to look back on. My heart goes out to John, and Denise's whole family. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Kelly Bostick Weirich was kind enough to let me know about Denise. I was lucky to have been one of Denise's AP English teachers. She was a joy to have in class, and was an intelligent, thoughtful, and kind person. Clearly she accomplished much in her life and made a difference. She will be sorely missed by those she touched.

To Denise's family,
I am so sorry to hear of your great loss. I was in Denise's English classes throughout High School and found her to be a very intelligent, caring, practical, and kind soul. I regret that I have not seen her since those days. May the Lord in His goodness console you in your grief and may she rest forever in His peace.

To Denise's family,

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Denise. She and I were childhood friends and often sat on the bus together. I remember, even back then, what a sweet and gentle person she was. I wish you peace in all your memories of her and the comfort that she is not forgotten in old friends.

How sad we were to read of the passing of Denise. My Son and I had the absolute pleasure of meeting her while my Dad was in Hospice care. She and Corky were such a comfort to us. We only spent about 45 minutes talking with her, and in that short time we knew what a kind, beautiful spirit she was. We pray the Lord will comfort you and give you strength to see you through these sad and difficult days. Our heartfelt sympathy to all of her family.

A valued volunteer at Humane Society of Catawba County. Denise volunteered her time by taking shelter animals to nursing homes. This was therapy for both the shelter animals and residents,we will miss you, Denise.
So happy, Corky was such a special companion.

Missing Denise-she was a one of a kind treasure. She had so many qualities within her. She had a big heart and a good and sensitive soul. She was gifted with thoughts and ways of seeing things that only special people know and she had the capability to express those thoughts better than anyone I've known. To John...I know you've lost a piece of yourself. But the love that Denise brought you did not leave; the essence of her soul lingers. It cannot escape your heart. Cling to the memories and let them find their way to heal you. You will realize that your time together was meant to be and that you were blessed to have such a precious gift in your life. I know I feel extremely blessed to have known Denise and like you, I wish I had more time with her.
