Doris Vanderlely Obituary

Doris E. Vanderlely
Doris E. Vanderlely of Ottsville, Pa., died May 31, 2008 in her home. She was 69. She was the wife of Hans Vanderlely. The couple celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on April 9. Born in Bedminster Township, she was a daughter of Anna E. (Detweiler) King of Bedminster and the late Harvey F. King, who died in 2000. She was a homemaker. In her earlier years, she worked for the former Fretz Pants Factory, Bedminster until the early 1960s. She was a member of St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kellers Church, Pa. Mrs. Vanderlely was a life member of the Ottsville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She played bingo every Monday night at the fire house and often volunteered in the kitchen at bingo nights. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, quilting and knotting. Survivors: Surviving with her husband and mother are a daughter, Shari A. Miller of Ottsville; son, Arthur T. Vanderlely and his wife, Dollce E., of Kintnersville; two grandchildren, Tyne Major and Jordan Eve Vanderlely; brother, Paul D. King and his wife, Gayle, of Quakertown. She was predeceased by a sister, Shirley King, and by a brother, William King. Services: Her funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008 in St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3668 Ridge Road, Perkasie, Kellers Church, where family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Kellers Church Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of St. Lukes, 2455 Black River Road, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
