Edward C. Eck, Jr.
Edward C. Eck, Jr., 82, formerly of Northampton died unexpectedly in his home in Pike County on August 30, 2011. He was the husband of Mary (Jones) Rumney Eck and the late Hilda (Seier) Eck who died January 14, 1997. Ed was born February 17, 1929 in Northampton, son of the late Edward Sr. and Mamie (Laury) Eck. He was an engineer for the N & B Railroad and he also worked at the Atlas Cement Co., Northampton. He served in the U.S. Navy. After his retirement he moved to his home in the Poconos where he enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Survivors: Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by four daughters, Linda Szoke and husband Steve, of Forksville, Patricia Budin and fiance Lynn Snyder, of Northampton, Susan Griesemer and husband Rian, of Walnutport, and Lisa Earich, of Bethlehem; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Predeceased by sister, Loretta Burkhardt. Services: Saturday at 11 a.m. in Reichel Funeral Home 326 E. 21st St. Northampton. Call Saturday 9 a.m. until services in the Funeral Home.
