Eleanor M. Alaimo
Eleanor M. Alaimo, 80 of Lehigh Township, formerly of Bronx, N.Y. passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 28, 2008. She was the wife of the late Charles J. Alaimo who passed May 4, 1988. Born December 18, 1927, in New York City, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Eleanor (Horton) Mahoney. She was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Berlinsville. Eleanor was a writer for the former Journal American now the New York Post. Later she was manager of the Larchmont Shore Club, Larchmont, N.Y. Always she was a full time wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors: She leaves behind a devoted family, sons, Christopher, and Richard and his wife Sarah; daughters, Eleanor Meilinger and husband Michael, Mary Catherine Altmiller and husband Kevin, Michelle Hussey and husband Sean; grandchildren, Charles, Chelsey, Caitlin, Daniel, and Ryann Alaimo, Justus Altmiller, Amanda and Melanie Meilinger, and Jack Hussey. A brother Daniel preceded her in death. Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, in St. Nicholas R.C. Parish, Route 946 in Berlinsville. Viewing will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 2, in the George G. Bensing Funeral Home Inc., 2165 Community Dr., Route 946 Village of Moorestown-Bath. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to either the V.N.A. Hospice of St. Lukes, 1510 Valley Center Pkwy., Bethlehem, PA 18017, or the American Cancer Society, L.V. Chapter, 3893 Adler Pl., Bethlehem, PA 18017.
