Elsie V. Mack, 64, of Wind Gap, died Monday, June 6, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Elwood E. Mack for 47 years. Born May 3, 1941, in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Mary (Johnson) Counterman. She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ, Wind Gap, and was an avid bingo player. She worked in several blouse mills in the Slate Belt. Survivors: Husband; daughters, Patricia A. Mottern and husband James, and Jenny B. Mack and Walter Kindrew, all of Wind Gap, Christine Rowe and husband Randy of Pen Argyl; son, Stephen E. Mack and wife Linda of Wind Gap; a granddaughter, three grandsons; sisters, Delores Knecht of Bangor, Lila Metz of Pen Argyl, Cindy Buss, Alverna Mayers and Janet Repsher, all of Wind Gap; brothers, Woodrow W. of Belfast, Willard in Florida, Raymond of Stewartsville, N.J. She was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Lee. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, in the church, 2nd Street, Wind Gap. Call 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday. Burial, Wind Gap. Arrangements, Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West St., Wind Gap. Contributions: In her name, can be made to Christine Rowe, c/o the funeral home 18091.

Elwood,

I Just wanted to say that i'm going to miss all the wonderful times that I have spent with your wife.

She is a wonderful woman that has a BIG HEART for everyone that steps into her life. I don't have to tell you this because you have had 47 wonderful yrs yourself with her.

Elsie left me in her heart on Aug. 6th , 1994 when Steve and I started dating. From the first step into the door and the last step out the door she showed me what It was like to walk into a family that Loved One Another , and everthing that went with it. It didn't matter whether you were family , friends , or friends of the family, She treated everyone the same with open arms of love and made sure that you knew her house was your house too.

Elwood as the years went by your son and I faced many forks in the road along are journey to where we are now. You and Elsie always had your door and your hearts open to me to tell me things were going to be okay.

Not only do I have a family of my own but that I had another to call my own in your house. You and Elsie turned into my home away from home. A second place to go when I didn't have time to travel to my own.

I knew I could count on your family to make me feel better.

What i'm saying is that I'm Happy to have had 11 yrs with Elsie. All those years were years of happiness,joy,good times , and bad . Most of all years of open arms , I love You's , take care and see you soon.

Thank You everyone Jennie , Patti , Tina, and Steve for letting me into your hearts, and family for a lifetime of loving memories to come. I Love You All and will miss your Mother sooo much. I'll miss her hugs, the when are you and Stevie going to get married?! To the I Love You as you step out of her loving front door ,to her yelling see you soon.

Elwood you have become my second Dad since i've lost mine in 92 and I Love You very much, always remember that I'm here for you whenever you need me or another daughter. Ha Ha :o)

Pappy Mack,

I just wanted to say that I'll miss all the time I spent with her at the house.

I'll miss all her parties with lots of food, and her good baking treats.

I'll miss how she always made me feel good when I was sad , and always was kind ,and caring no matter if I was good or bad.

I'll miss all her hugs and kisses , and the I Love You Erin before I would leave her house.

Pap I promise I will pray every night before I go to bed and give her all the I Love you 's back.

Pap,

I'll miss all the times that gram helped me with my homework , or things that I needed help with.

All the times that she took me places with her.Most important was how she always was there for me when people were mean to me. She always showed me her kind heart and always gave me love, no matter if I was good or bad.

I'll really miss all the hugs and kisses that she would give me.

I promise I will pray to her every night before I go to bed.

I'm going to miss all the wonderful times that grammy helped me. I'll miss all the times that she was kind to me.
