George Eck Obituary
George E. Eck, Jr. (Pappy) (Fats) 83, of Allentown devoted, loving father and grandfather passed away at Westminster Village on March 27. Prior, he resided with his daughter Christine and son-in-law Jose Vega. Born in Allentown he was the son of the late George and Emma (Smith) Eck Sr. He was the husband of the late Kathleen Eck who passed away in 2006 they were married 50 years. George was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Allentown; he was employed by UGI Gas Co. for 40 years as a service technician, he was also an avid hunter. George served in the Army during WWII. Survivors: Sons, George III, William; Daughters, Patricia, Felicia, Christine, Lisa, Lori, Beth Ann all of Allentown; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren. Services: Visitation, Tuesday, March 30 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 31 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed by services all in Weber Funeral Home 502 Ridge Ave. Allentown (www.weberfuneralhomes.com)

Felicia and Eck Family,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. I know there's a huge whole in your hearts. But, please try to fill it with all the great memories you have and he will live forever in your heart, mind and souls.
I'll never forget our trip to Yankee stadium, we had such a great time! And just think he gets to cheer those Yankees on for the 1st big game of the season tonight from that great big stadium in the sky!! On Easter yet. How great is that. You know the Yanks are taking it all the way this year!! Baseball is just one of many, many, many great memories you guys have. So may I leave you with this......Death can leave a heartache that nothing can heal, but, Love can leave a memory that no one can steal!!
And he's with his one true love again, together watching over all of you.
Great job Felicia and Chrissy, you stuck by him through thick and thin. He will never leave you....God Bless

To the ENTIRE Eck family,
We were very saddened to hear of Fats passing. He will truely be missed. Take comfort in knowing that he is now with Kay. He was a wonderful man and touched everyone he met. God was missing an Angel so he called him back home. If you need anything please let us know.

Felicia and family, I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing and wish you all the best in the coming days. You know I am here for you, if you need anything at all, just let me know! I wanted to be at the services for you, but it was not meant to be. I was with you in thought and prayer.
When I read his obituary in the paper it finally hit me, he passed away on the same day as my mother. I feel your pain and know what it's like to lose a family member so close to the holidays. It WILL get better with time but, you have to give yourself some time to grieve too. Miss you at work but take your time coming back! Again, our deepest sympathies, Denise and Mark Lelko

Oh I'm sorry, such a terrible loss to have to deal with before Easter. Fats was such a great father and grandfather, and even a great neighbor, he'll be missed for sure. You have my deepest condolences and my wishes for a spiritual peace that comes from the memories that Fats created with everyone he knew. I'm going to miss seeing him on the porch when I go by. Thank you, Fats, for being such a good friend and neighbor. Ipray for God to bless you all and heal you from this loss.

I know telling you Pappy is in a better place will not ease the pain your family is feeling right now. I can only pray for you and tell you he will not be forgotten as he lives on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A man greatest legacy is how he treated his loved ones and how he affected the lives of the people he left behind. Pappy is leaving a great legacy, you know what I mean Billy! I miss you so much! I can't believe your gone but I know its not forever & I know your with Grammy so I'm happy you's are together & happy but I miss you's both so much! To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
