Gladys Gilio

1932 - 2022

Gladys Gilio, 89, of Breinigsville, formerly of Moore Twp., passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, of Allentown. She was the loving wife of the late Dominic S. "Sonny" Gilio for 39 years until his passing on November 28, 1992. Gladys was born on May 5, 1932, in Northampton, PA. She was the daughter of the late Stephen and Stella (Smigowski) Kotch. Gladys was a bookkeeper for Sears, of Bethlehem and Whitehall. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, of Nazareth. Gladys loved following her grandkid's sports and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State football fan. She will be deeply missed by son, Michael Gilio and wife Athena, of Breinigsville; grandchildren, Melissa Tripp and husband Christopher, of Breinigsville, Christopher Gilio, of Allentown, and David Gilio, of Plymouth Meeting; great-grandsons, Christopher, Matthew, and Dominic; brother, Stephen Kotch and wife Barbara, of Allentown. She was pre-deceased by son, David C. Gilio, and sisters, Irene Smith, and Mildred Guss. Services with burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home Inc., of Nazareth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to "The Center for Animal Health & Welfare" and mailed to: 1165 Island Park Road Easton, PA 18042.
