Gregory John "Greg" Mihalyak, 60, of Lansdale, PA passed away on July 4, 2018 at Abington Hospice at Warminster in Warminster, PA. Born February 18, 1958 in Allentown, PA he was the son of Audrey M. (nee Trexler) Mihalyak of Sebastian, Florida and the late John M. Mihalyak. Greg was a 1976 graduate of Palisades High School in Kintersville, PA and a United States Army Veteran who proudly, honorably, and faithfully served his country. He was a decorated soldier, having been awarded the Army Achievement Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation, a Meritorious Unit Commendation, a Valorous Unit Award, an Armed Forces Reserve Medal, an Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, an NCO Professional Development Ribbon, an Overseas Service Ribbon, an Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, an Army Aviation Aircraft Crewman Badge, and a Sharpshooter Badge. During the course of his professional career as a Helicopter Mechanic, Greg had been employed by Horsham Valley Airways, the Sterling Aviation Company, and then as an Inspector for the Federal Aviation Authority. Greg enjoyed scuba diving, photography, motorcycle riding, camping, and being an active member of his church, the Immanuel Church of The Nazarene in Lansdale, PA. In addition to his mother, Greg is also survived by his siblings, Cheryl Ann Gricoski (Len), of Warrington, Jon Mihalyak, of Quakertown, and William Paul Mihalyak (Diana), of Easton, and his nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Sunday afternoon, July 8, 2018 from 2:00-3:00 PM at the Immanuel Church of The Nazarene, 1260 W. Main Street, Lansdale, PA 19446 where his Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM followed by Military Funeral Honors. In lieu of flowers, Greg's family has respectfully requested that those desiring to do so may make a memorial contribution to the Gregory J. Mihalyak Memorial Aviation Scholarship Fund in care of his mother or siblings directly, and which would be deeply appreciated by his family. Not a day goes by, that Greg doesn't cross my mind in some way,whether it's thru the sound of another person's laugh, the way they are talking to a stranger and actually INTERESTED (a way HE had, that came naturally, because he Was interested in EVERYTHING!A Rare Human Being! ;) ) , or a sunset I see that I know HE'D like too! Very few times do people come into a life and leave such a lasting imprint, and GOOD THINGS in their wake, but he DID..I'm very proud of him, how hard he worked to find that task which he was skilled at and loved to do, and how he served his Country WELL when it was needed the most.. and the Continued Courage he showed fighting his Greatest "Battle"..... I miss calling him, nagging him with silly messages, but sincere in wanting to make him laugh, esp towards the last..Our connection to Pleasant Valley made us Friends for Life, but when he left, he took the Best of it with him, but, though I likely won't see it again, I'll REMEMBER! Greg and I were best friends in 5th grade at Springfield Elementary. I have great, fond memories of him. He was a big influence on me at that time. Back then, I believed nothing was possible, while Greg believed everything was possible. Thank God for Greg Mihalyak. RIP
