Howard Israel Obituary

Dr. Howard A. Israel, 62, of South Whitehall Township, passed away on January 9, 2022.

Howard was not only a compassionate person, he was also a loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend to everyone he met. He was a dedicated Allergist and loved nothing more than helping his patients.

His hobbies were vast. He loved riding his bike, playing tennis, singing, playing piano, reading, watching comedies, and writing song parodies. His sense of humor was contagious. Even through his battle with Brain Cancer, Howard remained optimistic.

He was a philanthropist and cared deeply about his community. He will be remembered as a hero, a fighter, and a courageous individual. He touched so many people's lives. The world was a better place with him in it. May his memory be a blessing.

Howard is survived by his wife Susan; His children Michael, Chloe, and Chase; His mother, Sandy; and his sister, Sharon.

So sad that I never got to say goodbye to the most wonderful doctor I´ve ever had in my life. I just found out today months after he passed and I cried today He saved my life many times with my critical asthma for at least 20 years! I am grateful for the knowledge he passed onto me with an asthma action plan involving a home treatment plan for early symptoms. He even came out in the night in his slippers and bathrobe to open his office and treat me in the night. Thank you Dr Israel! I will miss you deeply! My condolences go out to the family and are in my prayers!

Saddened by the premature passing away of Howard. I remember my interesting medical and non-medical discussions with Howard during the Camp Wheeze Away days at Orefield. Howard was a soft spoken compassionate doctor who will be missed very much. Condolences to his family.

To Dr Israel´s family,
My deepest sympathy to all of you
Dr Israel became my allergist when I had anaphylactic reaction to something. When my tests did not show any indications, he kept researching because in his words
"My case was intriguing." He finally determined it was most likely due to a few mosquito or gnat bites. Gave me an Epi Pen to carry - never happened again.
He was very polite and easy to talk to. What stands out in my mind was that I told him I was going to the Jersey shore and couldn´t have a piece of peanut butter fudge because we didn´t know if peanut butter was an allergen. Well, I got a call from him while I was on the beach telling me it was okay to go have that fudge! He was gone too soon.
