The obituary describes Irene perfectly. She was smart, gracious and did indeed make everyone feel welcome and appreciated. She and Henry modeled what a good marriage, good parenthood and good humans looked like. What a joyous reunion theirs will be!

Irene, Henry, and at least 2 of their children (Alfred and Franny) moved across the street from my parents. in Allentown. For the first 7 years they lived there, I spent weekends with my parents. When my mother passed away in January 1980, Irene brought a tray of sandwiches over. She and Henry had my father and I over for dinner a few times after that. When my father passed away in June 1987, my wife (of 2 years at the time) and I moved into my late parents' home. We attended several good parties at the Acres, and enjoyed frequent, intellectually stimulating visits.
