Isabel Almonte

Isabel Almonte passed away peacefully on September 11, 2012 in her home at the age of 92. Isabel was one of six children to the late Carmelo and Inocencia Melendez Rivera of Morovi, Puerto Rico. Isabel was the beloved wife of Julian Almonte for 49 years and had worked at St. Lukes Hospital in the laundry department and then at Lehigh University for 20 years. Isabel was a loving mother and grandmother who loved being with her family and having fun. She had a great sense of humor, and loved to dance with family and party with friends. She will be dearly missed. Survivors: Daughters, Mercedes Melendez and Rebecca Rodriguez; sons, Pedro and Roberto Negron; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; right great-great grandchildren. Services: Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, where friends may call from 7 p.m. until time of services. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in front of the mausoleum of Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery, 1851 Linden St., Bethlehem 18017.
