James Kapsalis Obituary

James Kapsalis
James Kapsalis of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007. He was born on April 17, 1931 in Oinousses, Greece. He came to the United States in 1947 and resided in Easton, Pennsylvania with his wife. James became a United States citizen in 1957. In 1958 he became a partner in the DeLuxe Restaurant and in 1960 he purchased the Ladle Restaurant, both in Easton. In 1981 he purchased the Spartan Diner, Landsdale, Pa., from which he retired in 1988. In 2003, he and his wife moved to the Louisville area to be near his son and sons family. Survivors: James is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret, the former Margaret Kutsopias of Easton; son, Stephen; daughter-in-law, Carol; grandson, Dimitri; granddaughters, Christina and Melissa; brother, Loucas Kapsalis of Pireaus, Greece; sister, Stella Loutrary of Allentown, Pennsylvania; many nieces, nephews; friends. Services: Visitation for James will be in the Pearson Funeral Home, 149 Breckinridge Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40207 on Sunday, July 15 from 3-5 p.m. for family and 5-7 p.m. for friends. The prayer service will be held from 6:30-7 p.m. Services will be in Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 930 Ormsby Lane, Louisville, KY 40242-4536 on Monday, July 16, at 10 a.m. Burial immediately following in Louisville Memorial Gardens East Cemetery. Contributions: The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, friends and family consider making a donation to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church Construction Completion Fund in honor of James Kapsalis.
