Jane Ann Missimer

Jane Ann Missimer of Bethlehem, PA died Saturday October 21st at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill, PA. She was 94 years old.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, Robert and Carrie Kincaid, of Allentown PA, and her beloved husband of 54 years, Samuel H. Missimer.

She is survived by her brother, Wayne Kincaid of Catasauqua, PA, her son Samuel L. Missimer and his wife Debi Rubel of Ewing, NJ, son John R. Missimer and his wife Cheryl, and grandsons Grant and Collin Missimer, all of Glen Allen, VA.

A 1951 graduate of Moravian College, Jane taught English in the Bethlehem Area School District at Broughal and Nitchmann schools, where she was a popular and highly respected teacher.

An extraordinary person, her thoughtfulness and kindness are reflected in her numerous circles of friends, friendships she nourished and enjoyed to the very end. She was a member of the Cathedral Church of the Nativity where she not only worshiped, but was an active volunteer. She touched innumerable lives.

An avid reader, and believer in life-long learning, Jane spent her life surrounded by books, music and flowers. Her husband once remarked "she has two seasons, gardening and Christmas." She loved yellow, and had a special fondness for daisies.

Services will be held at 11am, Thursday, October 26th  at the Cathedral of the Nativity, 4th and Wyandotte Streets, Bethlehem, followed by a celebration of life luncheon in the parish hall.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Summer Camp Fund of the Cathedral Church of the Nativity, 321 Wyandotte Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem www.pearsonfh.com
