Janice Jenkins Obituary
Jan was born July 18th, 1940 in Quakertown PA. To Erwin and Eva Bright of Milford Square PA.
She married her high school sweetheart, Walter Donald Jenkins of Trumbauersville PA. Don and Jan moved to Arkport NY shortly after they were married, where Don worked on his Grandfather's farm. In 1972 they purchased their own farm in Arkport and together they planted their roots and had 3 children. They owned and ran Jenkins Farm Market, a well known and loved family business for over 40 years. Jan would sell the fruits and vegetables that Don grew. Later they added on a deli where Jan would share her love of Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine to Arkport and the surrounding areas.
Don and Jan would winter in Florida in the early 80's until they retired and built their home in Florida.
Serving others came naturally to Jan. Her hands were always busy playing piano, sewing/crocheting, gardening and cooking. She was an amazing cook with a rolodex of recipes in her mind. But her specialty was rocking all of her grandchildren. She cherished that the most.
Jan was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, W. Donald Jenkins and her sister Ruth {Harold Boardman}
Jan is survived by her 3 children. Keith {Fay} Jenkins of Leesburg, Fl. Cheryl {Rod} Reisman of Leesburg, FL. John {Kimberly} Jenkins of Leesburg, FL. Her sister Dianne {John} Dixon of Quakertown, PA. Her brother Donald {Betty} Bright of Quakertown, PA. Brother in-law Harold Boardman, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service for friends and family of Janice on March 12th. Calling hours at 10:30 a.m. Service is at 11:00 a.m. To be held at Grand Island Baptist Church. 13229 County Road 44 Grand Island FL. 32735. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Grand Island Baptist Church.
Janice will be laid to rest next to her husband Don on the family's property in Leesburg FL.

I graduated with Jan & Don, and a more loving and caring couple you could never find. It is a great loss for your family but now they are both together the way it always was.

Jan was a wonderful outgoing happy person, as was her husband Don. It was always nice to be in her company. May she b sharing eternity with Don and dwell in the house of the Lord for ever and ever.
