Jeanne S. Haggerty, 79, of Coplay, passed away on Tuesday evening July 8, 2008, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg, Bethlehem, surrounded by her family. Born in Brookdale, to the late James and Anna (Boyer) Schellenberger, she was the wife of Elwood B. Woody Haggerty for almost 54 years. A devoted member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Kreidersville, she was a past president and officer of W.E.L.C.A. A multi term member of Church Council and Sunday school teacher, Jeanne was very active with the Social Ministry Committee, and faithfully assisting at their annual Bazaar and cookie sale, as well as special events at the church. A talented seamstress, she could always be found making treasured items for her family and the Church. A 1947 graduate of Emmaus High School, Jeanne retiring in 1990 from Laneco in Coplay, where she was a well known cashier for more than 20 years. Survivors: Her husband; daughters Patricia A. and her husband Raymond Carlson of Farmville, Va., Kathleen N. Schwartz of Catasauqua; sons, James E. and his wife Kathy J. of Lehigh Township, Timothy J. and his wife Donna J. Northampton; grandchildren, Jessica, Kristen, Shawn, Kylee, Ben and Delaney; brothers, Paul Schellenberger of Wescosville, William Schellenberger and his wife Helen of Bowers. She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Newhard and a brother, James Schellenberger. Services: 11 a.m. Friday July 11, in her church, with Rev. Thomas A. Neel and Vicar Megan Crouch officiating. Her viewing will begin at 9 a.m. in the Church Foyer. Interment in Schoenersville Cemetery, Hanover Township. Arrangements by The Gilbert Funeral Home of Whitehall.
