Jeff will be remembered fondly by the neighbors on Chew St who were all saddened to hear of his passing. Jeff never failed to lend a hand to the elderly neighbors like my mother. She spoke of going over to check on him recently
when she noticed she hadn't seen his puppy. When she
found out that the pup had passed, she grieved with him.
We will all miss his warm and friendly smiles and the kindness of his heart. Thank you Jeff for caring for the neighborhood and my mother! Our sincerest sympathy to Jeff's family and friends. He was one of a kind.

I am so sad to learn of Jeff's untimely passing. We met as freshmen at Stony Brook. Although we stayed in touch only sporadically over the years there is a special bond that develops between college buddies that enables you to pick up where you left off even when it has been a long time between meetings. With Jeff gone the word is a bit less colorful place. Goodbye my old friend. Sorry to see you go.

I met Jeff almost 40 years ago when he was a freshman and I was a senior at Stony Brook University. He hit it off instantly with nearly all he met with his quirky sense of humor (even back then!).
While we didn't stay close we stayed in touch all these years. It was great seeing him on my last trip back east when we made a detour to Allentown to visit him at Beachead.
It's still hard to believe he's gone, but he will never be forgotten. He made the world a brighter and weirder place.
Rest in Peace, my friend.

I can't believe Jeff has passed. I remember when he and Biff opened Beachhead. It seems like only a few years ago.
He and I argued (and then partly agreed) every week, but his opinions and his banter will be sorely missed.
He was a great guy. I hope he's at peace and my condolences and prayers are with Stephanie and Jeff's mom and everyone who cared about Jeff and his family.

I met Jeff when I was working at Aldi. I saw him wearing a vest full of geeky pins and just had to strike up a conversation. I always looked forward to talking to him about the walking dead. It literally breaks my heart to know that I can't stop by and talk with him anymore. I said a little prayer for him and his family when I found out. He was such an awesome guy. I am truly going to miss him. I really hope he's at peace and I hope his family is doing alright.

This is my third attempt to put my feelings into words on this page. It seems to resemble the frustration I feel when I stop to think I will not be able to talk to Jeff when I want, or get his calls when I least expect them and feel happiness. I keep shaking my head and it doesn't change!!!
Jeff, you would love that you are in the same news paper with James Taylor.

Saddened by the news of Jeff's sudden passing. He was an honest and genuine person, rare to find in the world nowadays. My thoughts are with his family, friends and all who mourn the loss. I know Dustin and Omie were there to greet their friend just by the rainbow bridge.

I met Jeff when I was 12 and he was 25. Then he became my lifelong friend when Beachead Comics opened. That's a 30 year friendship, thru a lot of ups and downs, lots of comics, lots of laughs, lots of pop culture discussions, lots of free swag courtesy of the stores anniversary parties, two dogs named Dustin & Omie, as a kid, a teenager and an adult Jeff Rabkin was a huge part of my nerdy life. The man and his store will be sorely missed. Love you old friend. Nuff' Said

To all who knew Jeff, and how he enriched our lives (both with books and a wicked sense of irony and humor), to say he'll be missed is a gross understatement. If the world had more people like Jeff in it, the place would be a lot warmer and weirder in a good way. Good-bye, buddy. Thanks for everything.
