Bud was one of the best journalists around and I am grateful he took a chance on hiring an inexperienced college liberal arts grad to be a radio newsman. He had a real nose for news, a genuine community spirit and plenty of courage, and he helped me on my way to a successful career in communications. Working for Bud (and his brother Mickey) was never dull and Bud could be a tough taskmaster, but I learned a lot - and met my wife at one of his radio stations. I thank him for all the lessons he taught me. I only regret I didn't get to see more of him when I wasn't an employee, because he enjoyed life to the fullest. Thanks, Bud and my best to all your family.
