John Zavecz Obituary

John Francis Zavecz
John Francis Zavecz, 91, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday, March 9, 2014. He was born October 22, 1922 in Bethlehem; one of nine children to the late Frank and Anna (Libricz) Zavecz. John is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Cecelia (Diskanetz) Zavecz. John proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp., where he was an electrician. John enjoyed the company of his friends at the YMCA. Survivors: John will be dearly missed by his wife; daughters, Elaine and Kathleen, both of Bethlehem; his son, James and his wife, Suzanne, of Shreveport, LA; and a granddaughter, Rachel. Services: A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014, from 7 to 9 p.m., and again on Friday, from 9 to 9:30 a.m., at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Annes Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18017. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Condolences may be made online at www.connellfuneral.com. Contributions: Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St., Bethlehem, PA 18015.
