Joseph Dunski Obituary
Joseph Dunski, 80, of Lower Macungie Township, formerly of Whitehall, died on Sunday, August 16, 2009 in his home. He was the husband of Gloria (Groff) Dunski. The couple celebrated 51 years of marriage on May 24. Born in Allentown he was the son of the late Anna (Dunski) Lukowski. He was an active member of St. Marys Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Allentown, where he was a member of St. Marys Seniors, the church choir and was a former board member of the church. He was a graduate of Allentown High School, Class of 1947. Joe worked in the composing room at the Morning Call Newspaper for 40 years before his retirement. He was a member of the former Pan-Orthodox Choir, the UKES Club, Morning Call Club 30 and the Lehigh Valley Ukrainian Male Chorus. Joe was a founding director of St. Marys Traditional Ukrainian Dancers. Survivors: Wife; Sons, Joseph N. Dunski and his wife JoanAnn of Upper Macungie Township, and Jonathan F. Dunski of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother, Michael Turczyn of Allentown; grandchildren, Shannon, Peter and Paul Dunski. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph John Dunski. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. Marys Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1031 Fullerton Avenue, Allentown, Pa. Call 9 to 10:15 a.m., in the church. Interment in the parish cemetery. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to St. Marys Orthodox Church, Current Expenses Fund or Icon Restoration Fund, 18102.

To me, Joe was a true gentleman in both manner and style. If you were his friend, you were also considered family. He embraced his faith, his family and his friends with a truthful heart and opened arms---ever respectful of others regardless of their fate and always willing to give another a helping hand on their way through life---a mentor to many and a sterling example to all as a life well lived. I will miss him...

Johnny and I are so saddened by the news of the passing of Your Loved One. Although we didn't get to spend a lot of time together, we always enjoyed the conversations we had with Joe.
