Joyce A. (Rathburn) Held, 76, of Allentown, died October 29 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of Wilbur C. Held. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary last February 22. She was a security officer for the former Hesss, Allentown, before retiring. Previously, she was the owner of the former Joyce Ann Beauty Salon, a line worker for General Electric and office worker for ACME markets, all of Allentown. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late William Rathburn and Margaret (Trexler) Rathburn Spitzner. A Protestant, she was a former member and choir member of Grace United Church of Christ, Allentown. She was a lifelong member of the East Allentown Fire Company auxiliary. An avid bowler, she was a member and served on the board of directors of the Allentown Womens Bowling Association. She was a member of the Dolores Schwab Locust Valley Scramble League. Survivors: Husband; daughter, Linda S., wife of Dr. Michael W. Schantz of Lafayette Hill; sister, Bettie Amici of Allentown; grandson, Michael C. Schantz; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Rathburn. Services: memorial, 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton streets, Allentown.
